So this is BRISBANE, the 3rd largest city in Australia. It is on the East coast, right in the middle of Australia ( a ways north of Sydney). Brisbane is in the Southern part of Queensland, which is the sunshine state! The weather is great all year round here!! It is my new home, or at least my base!
I am attending Griffith Uni at the Nathan campus. It is a 10 min bus ride from Brisbane, which is a large city ( a million ppl or so). My photography class is actually in Brisbane at another campus- South Bank. Brisbane is a beautiful, clean, advanced city. A river snakes through the middle of the city and there are a lot of gardens and great architecture! There is soo much to do here. We haven't been disappointed yet on our excursion around the city. Take a look...

View of Brisbane from one of the Bridges. South Bank is one the left and downtown the right.

An old church in the middle of downtown Brisbane.

View from boardwalk. This is a really pretty area with all of the boats and landscape near the river. It is beautiful at night too!

Girls on one of the bridges in Brisbane. These are some of my new American friends. Nikki, Kristen, Michelle, Devin, and Lindsey. We were out exploring the city this day.

Boats in the river at Brisbane. There are a lot of boats here- it is a large river.

View from one of the gardens looking towards downtown.

This was a concert that we wandered upon while exploring. We didn't go, but I thought the shadow looked neat.

There are crazy looking trees here- the roots come from the branches. This one is in the botanical gardens.

There is a man made beach, Streets Beach, right in the middle of Brisbane at South Bank! Complete with sand and all!

Napalese Peace Pagoda in Brisbane. It is really neat up close- it is all wood and very intricately carved!

Brisbane has a citycat, public transportation by boat. It's free with our bus ticket so we went for a ride! This is my friend Kristen and I.

Awesome walkway at Southbank in Brisbane. It is a great area along the river with lots of art and plants. My photography class is very near here.

Chinatown, another part of Brisbane, features several shops and chinese restaraunts. It has cool decorations and lights. We thought it was Chinese New Year here, but it was the night before. They also have a market on the weekends.

Kristen and I at Chinatown.

Cool waterfountain in Chinatown. It changes colors and smokes!
